In 1997, from its site in the West Midlands, Jack Moody Limited opened the UK's largest purpose built green and inert waste recycling facility. Taking waste from local authorities, private contractors and Jack Moody's own landscaping projects, it now produces over 244,000 tonnes of inert material and 44,000 tonnes of 100% recycled, peat free compost, produced from 100% renewable sources.

The Midland Compost and Recycling (MCR) division of Jack Moody Limited recycles commercial and municipal organic materials as a cost effective alternative to landfill disposal. The use of organic composting products can also help the environment by reducing the potential for harmful emissions and ground water pollution from landfill.

In 2002, MCR was the first compost manufacturer to be awarded the government and Composting Association backed WRAP certificate, for its CARE Compost™ range of soil conditioners. Together with Organic Standard certification from the Soil Association, CARE CompostTM is recognised as a product of one of the best composting processes in the UK, confirming the excellent quality that our customers continue to enjoy.
